The system of safety cushions "Opel Full Size" consists of several separate systems.

The system of forward safety cushions works at heavy head-on collisions and forms the safety shock-absorber for the driver and the forward passenger. The movement ahead of sitting forward sharply is slowed down and, thereby, danger of traumatizing an upper body and head significantly decreases.

The system of side safety cushions works at side crashes and forms the safety shock-absorber for the driver or the forward passenger in a zone of the corresponding forward door. Thus at side crash danger of traumatizing top and pelvic parts of a body significantly decreases.

Inflatable blinds of a security system work at side crashes and forms the safety shock-absorber in a head zone on the relevant party of the car. Thus at side crash danger of traumatizing the head significantly decreases.

Existence of system of forward safety cushions is marked by the inscription "AIRBAG" on a steering wheel and over a forward ware box.

The system of forward safety cushions includes:

– the airbag with a gas generator placed both in a steering wheel, and in a guard of devices;

– the operating electronics with collision sensors;

– a signaling device of systems of safety cushions on a guard of devices;

– system of an identification of employment of a seat;

– a signaling device of systems of safety of children with transponders in a guard of devices.

The system of forward safety cushions works in the following cases:

– at accident of a certain weight;

– depending on a type of collision;

– in the area of coverage shown in the drawing;

– irrespective of side system of safety cushions and inflatable blinds.

The system of an identification of employment of a seat switches-off forward and side airbags of the forward passenger when the seat is not occupied or on it the system of safety of children of Opel with transponders is installed.
